Artie Lange benefit for Robin Salem

Artie Lange will present a benefit for Robin Salem, wife of “Scott the Engineer,” April 26 at the Stress Factory in New Brunswick.

Former “Howard Stern Show” cast member Artie Lange will present an evening of standup comedy at the Stress Factory in New Brunswick, April 26 at 7:30 p.m., to benefit Robin Salem, the wife of longtime “Howard Stern Show” engineer Scott Salem (known to listeners as “Scott the Engineer”).

Tickets are $40 ($49 with buffet, $60 for VIP seating); visit stressfactory.com.

Scott Salem has started a GoFundMe campaign, titled “Help Robin Recover,” writing on the campaign’s page about the struggles that his wife has had with multiple cancers, and the fact that she has been bedridden for the last two years.

“While our insurance covered most of the expenses we had to hire private nurse/aide to care for her while I was at work, which is not covered,” Scott Salem wrote. “We have drained our savings and have gone into considerable debt to cover the related expenses that are not covered. In addition to the private care that is required there are other non-covered expenses, such as certain medical equipment and modifying our home to make it handicapped friendly.”

Lange wrote on Twitter account, @artiequitter, earlier this month: “Stay tuned for info on a benefit for Scott the Engineers wife Robin. Scott’s a made guy. He needs our help now. I will be headlining. If u knew Robin you’d know why it’s important to help. She’s a doll.”

Lange lives in Hoboken and the Salems live in Oradell.

Lange will also perform at a all-star benefit at the Stress Factory, tonight, for comedian The Reverend Bob Levy, who is recovering from a serious car accident.

You’re assuming Howard has done nothing. He may have helped but just not talked about it on the air

Not fair judging Stern. According to Artie himself Howard is a very generous dude. Let’s wait and see

Howard is one of if not the most loyal employer around. Just because he does not mention helping Scott does not mean he hasnt.

The show enables the benefits to begin with. I didn’t expect my boss to pay me money when my wife had cancer. What’s wrong with people man…
