The Barefoot Country Music Fest, which was shaping up to be the biggest country music festival in New Jersey history, has been postponed from June 19-21 of this year to June 25-27 of 2021, because of the pandemic.
The event had been scheduled to take place on the beach in Wildwood and feature stars such as Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, Dan + Shay, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Billy Currington and Trace Adkins. No artists have been announced yet for the 2021 event.
It also was announced that there will be a June 24, 2021 “Concert Kick-Off Party” honoring health care professionals and other front line workers in the battle against the coronavirus, and that festival tickets will be donated to 500 of them.
According to the festival’s web site, “BCMF ticket holders can roll over their tickets to 2021, donate their tickets to honor to COVID-19 frontline workers, or request a refund.”
“We’re heartbroken over what’s happening throughout the country and disappointed BCMF will not happen in 2020, but felt it was the best decision to protect the health and safety of fans, the Wildwood community, artists and BCMF staff,” said festival organizer Rob Pedlow on the web site.
Wildwood Mayor Pete Byron said he’s looking forward to “an even bigger and better festival in 2021.”
