Wildwood will host the Barefoot Country Music Fest in June.
Promising “over 30 of country music’s biggest stars and up-and-comers on multiple stages on the beach,” organizers have announced a new festival for Wildwood, which will be held June 19-21 and called the Barefoot Country Music Fest.
A press release says the event will be “the Northeast’s largest outdoor country music festival, occupying a 27-acre playground on the beach.”
Some of the artists will be announced on Jan. 7, with early bird tickets going on sale at 8 a.m. Jan. 10. Visit barefootcountrymusicfest.com.
(MARCH 13 UPDATE: Ten acts have now been confirmed: Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, Dan + Shay, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Billy Currington, Trace Adkins, Justin Moore, LANCO, Jimmie Allen, High Valley, Colt Ford and Filmore.)
The event will be produced by the Charlotte-based Southern Entertainment company, which does have a history of attracting major names to festivals it produces, including the Carolina Country Music Fest in Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and the Wild & Wonderful Country Music Fest in Morgantown, W.V.
This year’s Carolina Country Music Fest, for instance, featured Florida Georgia Line, Dierks Bentley, Thomas Rhett, Alabama, Dan + Shay and many others.
