“Asbury Park: Riot, Redemption, Rock ‘n Roll” becomes available digitally Nov. 1.
The documentary “Asbury Park: Riot, Redemption, Rock ‘n Roll” — which was shown at the Asbury Park Music and Film Festival in 2017 and, in an updated version, again this year — is now available to purchase on digital platforms.
The film includes interview and performance footage featuring Bruce Springsteen, Steven Van Zandt, Southside Johnny, David Sancious and other Asbury Park legends, as well as a peek inside the legendary Upstage club, which has been closed since the early 1970s.
Directed by Tom Jones, the film also takes an in-depth look at the city’s history, and its devastating 1970 racial riots.
An all-star jam session took place at Asbury Park’s Paramount Theatre in conjunction with the film’s 2017 premiere, and footage from that night is incorporated into the film’s updated version.
The film can be purchased via United States iTunes and Canada iTunes.
