Following one of its annual traditions, NJPAC in Newark will present free, outdoor shows on Thursdays this summer, in its Sounds of the City program. Performers will include reggae great Julian Junior Marvin (of Bob Marley’s Wailers), Prince’s New Power Generation group (performing his music), salsa singer Charlie Cruz, and Newark-based hip-hop group Lords of the Underground.
The shows will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. at Chambers Plaza, in front of NJPAC’s main entrance. Food will be available via food trucks and NJPAC’s NICO Kitchen + Bar, which has some outdoor seating.
