THE LAST BANDOLEROS

The primary venue in which the Outpost in the Burbs presents concerts is the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Montclair. But the organization uses other venues as well. On Sept. 13, for instance, it will host a show by Jeffrey Gaines and Freedy Johnston, outdoors at Montclair’s Van Vleck House & Gardens. And, more immediately, this Saturday it will present about five hours of free outdoor music in partnership with Montclair Center Stage on Church Street in downtown Montclair.

Act will range from the Chapin Sisters, whose latest album is a collection of Everly Brothers songs, to The Last Bandoleros, which describes its sound as a “San Antonio-forged, Tex-Mex/Pop-Rock outfit.” Lawn chairs are suggested, and new school supplies and non-perishable food items will be collected for the Human Needs Food Pantry of Montclair. Here is the schedule:

5:05 p.m.: Kim & Dave
5:40 p.m.: Ryan Hobler
6:15 p.m.: Frank Lombardi
6:50 p.m.: Jason Darling
7:30 p.m.: City of the Sun
8:10 p.m.: The Chapin Sisters
9:10 p.m.: The Last Bandoleros

Also, the Outpost’s 2015-16 season at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation is starting to shape up, with six shows announced, and more to be added later. Here are the currently confirmed shows:

Sept. 19: Joseph Arthur, solo acoustic
Oct. 3: The James Maddock Trio, Cariad Harmon
Oct. 9: Paula Cole
Nov. 6: The THE BAND Band. 39th anniversary celebration of “The Last Waltz.”
Nov. 13: Amy Helm and the Handsome Strangers
Jan. 30: Seventh annual Concert for Haiti with Steve Forbert, Melissa with Jazz House Kids, Zing Experience, others. (Tickets not on sale yet.)
