Six days a week: Woodbridge will offer free music on most nights during summer

by JAY LUSTIG

Amy Helm performs at Parker Press Park in Woodbridge, July 12.

Many New Jersey communities present one free night of music each week, throughout some portion of the summer. Woodbridge, though, has put together what is probably New Jersey’s largest set of free shows, with five nights of music on some weeks, and six on others.

There will be oldies on Mondays; tribute bands on Tuesdays; folk, rock, jazz, blues and world music on Wednesdays; local bands on Thursdays; jazz on the second Friday of each month; and country on Sundays.

The schedule for local bands isn’t finalized yet, but here is the rest of it. For more information and updates, visit woodbridgeartsnj.org.

(Update: A Summerfest Kickoff show has been added, June 22 at 4 p.m. at the Woodbridge Community Center, with The Benjamins and Moonlight Mile.).

If you’re going to have jazz, have someone I have heard of.
