NJ Symphony Orchestra to present free concerts at five parks this summer

The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra has announced the details for its traditional set of free summer shows at New Jersey parks.

These will be the five locations:

June 21, 7:30 p.m.: Echo Lake Park, Mountainside
June 24, 7:30 p.m.: Maxwell Place Park, Hoboken
June 25, 8 p.m.: Ocean County College, Toms River
June 28, 7:30 p.m.: Branch Brook Park, Newark (with fireworks)
June 30, 8 p.m.: Marine Park, Red Bank.

NJSO Youth Orchestra artistic director José Luis Domínguez will conduct, and the programs will include music by Leonard Bernstein, José Pablo Moncayo, Astor Piazzolla, Florence Price, Duke Ellington, Arturo Márquez, Aaron Copland and George Gershwin.

The orchestra will also perform at the Giralda Music and Arts Festival in Madison, on June 23, and present a program of new music by 2019 NJSO Edward T. Cone Composition Institute composers, July 20 at Princeton University’s Richardson Auditorium.
