Holiday Express will present a virtual Clambake as a fundraiser, Sept. 13.
Holiday Express — the Shore-based nonprofit organization devoted to bringing live music to hospitals, nursing homes, soup kitchens and other places where some cheer is needed during the holiday season — raises money in a variety of ways, to support its uplifting endeavors. These include fundraising concerts at the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank, and an annual Clambake.
Even in the pandemic, it will continue its work at 100 venues this year with virtual dance parties, and gifts. But the fundraising concerts obviously can’t take place as usual. Still, the Clambake will be happening, in virtual form, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m.
The webcast will feature entertainment by Holiday Express musicians (including Layonne Holmes, Carl Gentry, Pat Guadagno, Jim Celestino and Amy Broza), cooking and cocktail demonstrations, a silent auction hosted by Holiday Express founder Tim McLoone, and clips from past Holiday Express appearances, including performances at the Meadowlands Arena (with Bruce Springsteen and Joe Piscopo) and at the Rockefeller Tree Lighting.
