Bon Jovi has postponed its two Madison Square Garden shows to April 13 and 15.
With frontman Jon Bon Jovi suffering from bronchitis, Bon Jovi has postponed its April 7 and 8 shows at Madison Square Garden to April 13 and 15. Tickets for April 7 will be honored on the 13th, and tickets for April 8 will be honored on the 15th.
According to a message on bonjovi.com, “The decision was difficult to make, but made in the interest of delivering the full, powerhouse performance for which Bon Jovi is known.”
The band, which usually plays for more than two hours, cut its Wednesday night show to 90 minutes because of Jon’s vocal problems. The Pittsburgh Post Gazette reported that he told the crowd: “I think I’m singing like s— tonight, and I apologize… but I’m gonna keep pushin’ on and if you stick it out with me, I’ll stick it out with you.”
According to NJ.com, Jon also had vocal problems at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, March 31. “The list of subpar vocals on Friday night was long,’ wrote Bobby Olivier, “but especially poor were the heavier new track ‘We Don’t Run,’ the verses to ‘Born to Be My Baby,’ and ‘Have a Nice Day,’ where every note not landing in Jon’s comfortable lower register was either shouted through or missed completely.”
