Axl Rose and Slash of Guns N’ Roses, at the Prudential Center in Newark, Oct. 12.

Guns N’ Roses’ Not in This Lifetime … Tour, which marks the first time co-founders Axl Rose (vocals), Slash (guitar) and Duff McKagan (bass) have played together since 1993, came to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford in July 2016, and returned to the state on Oct. 12 for a show at the Prudential Center in Newark. The setlist was very similar to those at the 2016 concerts, with a few notable exceptions such as the addition of “Wichita Lineman” and “Black Hole Sun” in tribute to the late Glen Campbell and the late Chris Cornell, respectively.

Rose, Slash and McKagan are being joined on this tour keyboardists Dizzy Reed and Melissa Reese, guitarist Richard Fortus and drummer Frank Ferrer. The band has shows scheduled for Madison Square Garden in New York, Oct. 15-16 at 7:30 p.m. (visit thegarden.com), after having also played at the Garden on Oct. 11

I have waited over 20 years to see them (The original band) and most of those years were hopeless since it appeared they would never get back together. I understand that it’s Axl, Slash and Duff but the new additions are ridiculously talented and the concert in Newark went beyond my expectation and a 3 hour adrenal rush. It was awesome . Thank you GnR
