The compilation album Come On Up to the House: Women Sing Waits won’t be released until Nov. 22, but you can listen to Corinne Bailey Rae’s warm and slightly jazzy interpretation of “Jersey Girl,” below.

Rae, a British singer-songwriter, is best known for her 2006 hit, “Put Your Records On,” which was nominated for Grammys in the Record of the Year and Song of the Year categories (Rae was also nominated for Best New Artist). Her last album, The Heart Speaks in Whispers, in 2016.

“Jersey Girl” is from Waits’ 1980 Heartattack and Vine album, and was inspired by his wife, Kathleen Brennan, who grew up in Morristown. Bruce Springsteen has covered it occasionally since 1981.
