Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul perform AC/DC’s “You Shook Me All Night Long” in Oslo.

As a tribute to AC/DC’s Malcolm Young, who died on Saturday at the age of 64, Little Steven Van Zandt and his Disciples of Soul performed a hard-hitting version of one of AC/DC’s signature songs, “You Shook Me All Night Long,” as the first encore at their concert at the Rockefeller Music Hall in Oslo, Norway, yesterday. You can watch the performance below.

After Young’s death, Van Zandt told Rolling Stone: “Malcolm was the essential rhythm guitarist of the world’s greatest working class Hard Rock band. An irreplaceable loss.”

Young had been suffering from dementia for several years, and left the band in 2014 because of that.

This wasn’t Van Zandt’s first time playing AC/DC. The E Street Band covered the group’s “Highway to Hell” six times in 2014.

Yesterday’s concert opened with another tribute: Tom Petty’s “Even the Losers.” Van Zandt has been customarily opening his shows with this song since Petty’s death in October.

Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul still have 13 shows left on their European tour. The band will also present “Holiday Homecoming” concerts at the Brooklyn Bowl, Dec. 20, and the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, Dec. 23.

Thanks Steve and Deciples for putting the fantastic tribute together. I’ve never been a big fan of AC/DC, but Rock&Roll has something for everyone.
