Low Cut Connie frontman Adam Weiner and guitarist Will Donnelly have been doing livestreams regularly throughout the pandemic, from Weiner’s home in Philadelphia, and 23 covers from those shows will be featured on an album, Tough Cookies: The Best of The Quarantine Broadcasts, to be released May 19 digitally and on vinyl. The track listing is not yet available, but the album can be pre-ordered at lowcutconnie.com/toughcookies.

Weiner said in a press release: “Two weeks into quarantine, we ‘went live’ in my spare bedroom in South Philly to cheer up our fans. There was no script, no plan, just a couple schmucks trying every form of entertainment to try to lift people’s spirits.

“Now a year later, we’re still going strong and have covered over 500 songs for viewers in over 40 countries. It’s been amazing watching the project grow and I wanted to put the record out as a document of this insane time we all shared. It was all done on cell phones but the spirit of the matter cuts through.”

The series — which has featured interviews with artists including Darlene Love, Joan Osborne and members of Sly & the Family Stone — will include an interview with Pennslvania Lieutenant Gov. John Fetterman in its 85th episode, which will stream March 27. (Fetterman has declared his candidacy for the U.S. Senate seat in Pennsylvania that will become vacant in 2022.)
