MARK WEISS

From left, Sebastian Bach, Kevin DuBrow and Zakk Wylde perform at Mark Weiss’ 1987 wedding. Bach had not yet joined Skid Row and Wylde was still playing in local bands.

Among the performers at rock photographer Mark “Weissguy” Weiss’ 1987 wedding at the Molly Pitcher Inn in Red Bank were singer Kevin DuBrow (of the band Quiet Riot), singer Sebastian Bach (not yet a member of Skid Row) and guitarist Zakk Wylde (then 20 years old and a member of the Jersey club band Zyris).

Bach already has his big hair, but Wylde, later known as Ozzy Osbourne’s guitarist and the burly frontman of his own Black Label Society band, is still baby-faced and skinny. The three had never performed together before, and never would again.

A video featuring Bach and Wylde performing Led Zeppelin’s “Rock and Roll” at the wedding, along with bassist Chris Doliber (of Bach’s Madam X band) and drummer Dave Feld, has been released. (see below) And a video of the band performing Quiet Riot’s “Bang Your Head” with DuBrow (see photo above) will be publicly screened for the first time as part of a virtual fundraiser for the Monmouth Museum in Lincroft, today (Oct. 30) at 6 p.m..

“Welcome to the Exhibition” will be shown on Oct. 30.

The fundraiser, titled “Welcome to My Exhibition” (a reference to Alice Copper’s Welcome to My Nightmare album), is being presented in conjunction with the museum’s current exhibition of Weiss photography. Titled “The Decade That Rocked” (the decade being the ’80s), it will close on Nov. 1.

Weiss recently released a coffee table book, “The Decade That Rocked: The Photography of Mark ‘Weissguy’ Weiss.”

Weiss will host the fundraiser, which will feature, in addition to the ’87 video, music by Keith Roth & His Band of Ghouls, Mark Tornillo of T.T. Quick, Rob Affuso of Skid Row, Jerry Gaskill of King’s X, and Maddy Hellstrom.

Among the many musicians making appearances but not performing are Wylde, Rudy Sarzo of Quiet Riot, Dee Snider, Yngwie Malmsteen, Tico Torres of Bon Jovi, Stephen Pearcy of Ratt, Steven Adler of Guns N’ Roses, Dave “Snake” Sabo of Skid Row, and Don Dokken of Dokken.

To order the pay-per-view special, visit meethook.live/rock. All those buying tickets will be entered in a drawing for a photo of Cooper by Weiss, signed by both.
