Remember Jones will perform Queen songs at the Count Basie Center in Red Bank, April 28.

Less than a day after the Queen biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody” won four Academy Awards, the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank has announced that Remember Jones will perform the music of Queen at the theater, April 28 at 8 p.m.

The show, titled “Yas Queen!,” will be part of the Asbury Park Music and Film Festival.

According to a press release, the performance “will feature an over-the-top 10-piece rock band, including horns and strings, along with a huge rock choir to breathe NEW life into the songs that have captured the hearts and souls of millions around the world.”

Tickets, priced from $20 to $45, go on sale March 1 at noon, with presales beginning Feb. 26. Visit thebasie.org.

Facebook played a role in making this show happened.

Remember Jones, né Anthony D’Amato, posted Feb 16 on his personal Facebook page, facebook.com/antdamato: “DAMN. all this QUEEN and BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY talk this past year has me ITCHING to put on a show. FREDDIE is one of my faves of all time if you didn’t know … HMMMMMM …..”

Then he posted today: “WELP! that escalated quickly! … friends and fam, I’m SO EXCITED to ANNOUNCE this tremendous honor … after my FB post about FREDDIE MERCURY last week, my friends at the Count Basie Center for the Arts jumped on it and decided that its time for Remember Jones to finally headline that stage — 20 years to the month of me first walking on that stage and growing up on it as part of shows with Phoenix Productions, Inc.”

Remember Jones also recently announced that he and his band will perform The Who’s landmark Tommy double album in its entirety at the Axelrod Performing Arts Center in Deal, Sept. 7-8.
