Royal Albert Hall in London hosted a concert celebrating Richard Thompson’s 70th birthday, Sept. 30.

Richard Thompson, who moved to Montclair last year, turned 70 in April, and celebrated, a little belatedly, with an all-star concert at Royal Albert Hall in London, Sept. 30.

Guests included David Gilmour of Pink Floyd, Thompson’s ex-wife and ex-musical partner Linda Thompson, their son Teddy Thompson, Loudon Wainwright III, Bob Mould of Hüsker Dü, Hugh Cornwell of The Stranglers, Maddy Pryor and Martin Carthy of Steeleye Span, Harry Shearer (as Derek Smalls of Spinal Tap) and many others. Zara Phillips of Montclair and Christine Collister, a former member of Thompson’s band, performed backing vocals.

The setlist and some videos from the show are below.

Click here for Cindy Stagoff’s NJArts.net interview with Thompson, and here for her NJArts.net interview with Phillips. Both were published in February.

Thompson performs at the McCarter Theatre Center in Princeton, Jan. 18; visit mccarter.org for tickets.
