“New Born Soul” was the theme of Bruce Springsteen’s 18th DJ show on SiriusXM satellite radio, which debuted Feb. 24 on the network’s E Street Radio channel (channel 20). Springsteen further defined the theme as “the rebirth of all things good, the essentialness of new transformations and good times in your life, and the nurturing of your spirit.”
He didn’t talk much, but played music by himself (“Real World,” “Living Proof,” “My Beautiful Reward”) as well the Staple Singers (from whose song he took the title of this show), Sam Cooke, Bob Dylan, Kanye West and Jay-Z, Van Morrison and more, and read a poem by Ciel Sainte-Marie.
