The Weekend will briung his After Hours Tour to the Prudential Center in Newark on Feb. 5, 2022.

While I remain hopeful that large concerts will be possible this summer, it’s not a good sign that The Weeknd’s July 6 show at the Prudential Center in Newark has been postponed to Feb. 5, 2022.

Tickets will be honored on the new dates but refunds will also be available. Visit ticketmaster.com.

The Weeknd — who will release a new compilation album, The Highlights, on Feb. 5, and perform at the Super Bowl LV halftime show in Tampa, Feb. 7 — has moved all his After Hours Tour dates to 2022. He’ll be in North American from January to May of that year, and in Europe from September to November.

In addition to the Newark show, he also will perform at The Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Feb. 11-12, 2022; The Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, April 3, 2022; Madison Square Garden in Manhattan, April 4-5, 2022; and The UBS Arena in Elmont, N.Y., April 7, 2022.

The UBS Arena, which is being built next to the Belmont Park racetrack, will be the home for hockey’s New York Islanders starting with the 2021-22 season, and The Weeknd’s show is the first concert to be scheduled there.
