The Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn has delayed the opening of its next play, “Sister Act.”

(March 17 Update: “Sister Act” is now pushed back at least eight weeks, and “The Wanderer” definitely won’t be part of the current season.)

The next play in the 2019-20 season of the Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, “Sister Act,” was scheduled to begin previews on April 1, but that has been pushed back two weeks, to April 15, and may be delayed even more, depending on how the coronavirus crisis goes.

The original closing date was April 26; the new closing date has not been announced yet.

There also may be changes to the run of the final show of the season, the Dion jukebox musical, “The Wanderer,” which had been scheduled to run from May 28 to June 28.

The theater released a statement on Facebook that said: “Paper Mill Playhouse has postponed SISTER ACT until April 15, and is now looking into the possibility of an even later start date still within this season. We are also looking at potential date changes for THE WANDERER. Patrons will be notified within the next two days. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we try to work through this very difficult time. We truly value the loyalty of our subscribers, ticket buyers, and donors.”
