GRACE POTTER

The Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank announced, last week, the upcoming opening of a new performance space, The Vogel. Today, it confirmed the first 10 150-capacity, socially distanced shows it will present in October and November.

Singer-songwriter Grace Potter will perform on Oct. 22-23 at 7 p.m., followed by Chris Thile, Oct. 24 at 7 and 9:30 p.m.; Brian Kirk & the Jirks, Oct. 29 at 8 p.m.; the Grateful Dead tribute band Dead On Live, Nov. 1 at 8 p.m.; and comedian Vic DiBitetto, Nov. 12 and 14 at 7 and 9:30 p.m.

Tickets to all the shows will go on sale Oct. 9 at 10 a.m. Visit ticketmaster.com.

The balconied, two-level, 20,000-square-foot Vogel will be able to hold up to 800 people once pandemic restrictions are lifted. It is named after philanthropists Anne and Sheldon Vogel of Colts Neck, in recognition of their support of the Basie. Sheldon Vogel was a longtime executive at the Atlantic Records label.
