Hub City Music Festival returns with biggest lineup yet

The Roadside Graves.

The rock band Roadside Graves perform at the Court Tavern in New Brunswick on April 18 as part of the Hub City Music Festival.

In its three years, the Hub City Music Festival has grown pretty dramatically: Having started with four events in four days in New Brunswick 2013, it now encompasses 13 events in 11 days in New Brunswick, Highland Park and Somerset. Plus it has become more musically eclectic in its brief history, and offers, this year, an assortment of rock, jazz and classical acts, plus children’s music and musical theater.

Co-presented by The New Brunswick Cultural Center and Iguana Music, in partnership with the New Brunswick Jazz Project and coLAB Arts, the festival supports the programs of the New Brunswick-based Elijah’s Promise anti-hunger organization. Suggested donations are $5-$10 per event.

The shows begin on April 9 with a concert in the lobby of the Crossroads Theatre, and end on April 19 at Pino’s in Highland Park, with five short musicals created for the occasion, in just 48 hours each.
