Robert Cray’s March 11 concert at BergenPAC in Englewood has been postponed because of the coronavirus.

Following the postponement, yesterday, of the late-March Fest for Beatles Fans in Jersey City, more postponements and cancellations of New Jersey arts events have come today:

At BergenPAC in Englewood, The Robert Cray Band concert scheduled for March 11 and the Sir James Galway concert on March 12 have been postponed “due to recent developments in the spread of COVID-19 in our area,” according to a post on BergenPAC’s Facebook page. “We will try to reschedule these shows, but for now, refunds will be given at the point of purchase,” the message continued.

Rent Party has cancelled its March 13 concert at The Woodland in Maplewood, which had been scheduled to feature The Bitter Chills, Wild Carnation and Yung Wu. “The health of our volunteers, the bands, and all of you are of the utmost importance to us. We would rather err on the side of caution than risk anyone of you getting sick,” organizers wrote on Facebook.

The Princeton Symphony Orchestra has canceled six events, including two March 21 concerts at Richardson Auditorium at Princeton University that had been scheduled to feature violinist Stefan Jackiw. There are no current plans for rescheduling. “We are absolutely concerned about the health and safety of our musicians, staff, and event attendees, and are taking the action necessary to help prevent the spread of this illness in our community and the greater Princeton region,” said orchestra executive director Marc Uys in a press release.

Montclair Film has postponed five screenings that had been planned for its Cinema505. According to a message on the Montclair Film website, “Due to an abundance of concern for the health and safety of our patrons, partners, volunteers, and staff, and following guidance from health authorities regarding the COVID-19 virus, screenings of (the films) are currently postponed and will be re-scheduled at a future date.”
