NJ Hall of Fame to present its first concert in September

The New Jersey Hall of Fame will have a permanent home in East Rutherford.

Details are still few, but the New Jersey Hall of Fame plans to have, this year, not just an induction ceremony, but a concert to benefit its permanent home at the American Dream retail and entertainment complex in East Rutherford. Both the concert and the induction ceremony will take place in September.

The hall’s new location will be more than 16,000 square feet and feature both a virtual reality theater and a hologram theater. It is scheduled to in the summer of 2020.

In other news, “New Jersey Hall of Fame” will be featured as a category on the long-running television quiz show “Jeopardy!,” Feb. 8 at 7 p.m.

This year’s inductees will be named in late February. Nominees include Chris Rock, Whoopi Goldberg, Samuel Alito, The Smithereens, Patti Smith, Anthony Bourdain, Harry Carson, Stephen Crane, George R.R. Martin, Gay Talese, Anne Hathaway, Jason Alexander and Paul Tagliabue.

The hall is now in its 11th year, with inductees including Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, Bruce Springsteen, Frank Sinatra, Meryl Streep, Paul Robeson, Philip Roth and Woodrow Wilson. For information, visit njhalloffame.org.
