Jazz House kids virtual benefit

Wynton Marsalis and Christian McBride will perform together in a virtual benefit for Jazz House Kids.

Jazz House Kids’ fourth annual Ralph Pucci Jazz Set, featuring Diana Krall, took place early enough in 2020 that it had a live audience, but the fifth annual edition will be virtual. Recorded at the Ralph Pucci gallery space in New York, it will feature Wynton Marsalis on trumpet and Jazz House Kids artistic director Christian McBride on bass, along with Zoe Obadia on alto saxophone, Julian Lee on tenor saxophone, Isaiah Thompson on piano, and Zach Adleman on drums.

These four young musicians are all alumni of both Jazz House Kids and The Juilliard School in New York, where Marsalis is director of the jazz studies program.

The stream will be be available at jazzhousekids.org starting March 31 at 8 p.m., and remain available through April 4.

Proceeds will benefit the Montclair-based Jazz House Kids’ educational programs.
