SHANNON McNALLY
Singer-songwriter Shannon McNally grew up in Long Island and now lives in Mississippi, but she spoke for all those who love the Jersey shore â or anyone, really, who feels a strong connection to any particular place â on her song, “Bury My Heart on the Jersey Shore,” which she included on her 2002 album, Jukebox Sparrows.
In the song, which she co-wrote with Joshua Grange and Richard Felman, she sings:
“As soon as I could walk I ran
And when I stopped and turned around
Said, ‘Man, oh man, how far I’ve come
Look at all these things I’ve done
Yeah, you know I just want to go home’ “
