New York represents a lot of different things to a lot of different New Jerseyans. It could be a place to work. Or a place to see an occasional Broadway show, or Mets or Yankees game.

Or, it could represent sin and temptation.

This is what singer-songwriter Scott E. Moore seems to be going for in his bluesy “Bridge and Tunnel Song,” about a New Jerseyan who drives those “seven miles to another world,” then returns “with whatever is left of my soul” and observes, “these bridges and tunnels, well, they really take their toll.”

Moore, who grew up in Rutherford and now lives in Montclair, released the song on his 1995 debut album, Bridge and Tunnel. Hobokenites may remember him as the host of the long-running “Writer’s Hang” concert series in that town. To catch up on his latest activities, visit scottemoore.com.

New Jersey celebrated its 350th birthday last year. And in the 350 Jersey Songs series, we are marking the occasion by posting 350 songs — one a day, for almost a year — that have something to do with the state, its musical history, or both. We started in September 2014, and will keep going until Sept. 8, 2015.

If you would like to suggest any songs to be included, please let me know in the comments section underneath the video. And if you want to see the entire list, either alphabetically or in the order the songs were selected, click here.

Please consider DaVido and the LiBeatos’ song “Shore House”. If so, I’d be happy to send an updated video. I think it captures summer in New Jersey perfectly. I’d be happy to discuss what inspired it.

Thanks but honestly I’ve only got a few songs left in the series at this point and have songs picked out for all of them.
