Novelist George R.R. Martin will make an appearance in Jersey City, Nov. 19.

Bayonne native George R.R. Martin, best known for writing the “A Song of Fire and Ice” fantasy novels — which have been made into the HBO series, “Game of Thrones” — will make what is being billed as his only promotional appearance for his upcoming novel, “Fire & Blood,” Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the Landmark Loew’s Jersey theater in Jersey city.

The book — the first of two volumes that will explore the history of House Targaryen prior to the action of “A Song of Fire and Ice” — will be published on Nov. 20. There is no publication date yet for the second volume.

The event is being presented by Jersey City’s Word bookstore, which says on its web site that Martin will discuss ” ‘Game of Thrones’ and the discoveries within ‘Fire & Blood’ ” with writer and actor John Hodgman. The $40 admission price includes a signed copy of the book.

There will be no meet-and-greet or in-person signings (Martin will sign in advance), though there will be a question-and-answer session after the talk with Hodgman.
