During his 2024 tour, Bruce Springsteen frequently posted video messages on social media; I collected them HERE. It looks like he may be doing the same thing on his current tour, which begins March 31 in Minneapolis.

He posted a video today — you can watch it below — in which, standing with The E Street Band behind him, he rattles off his upcoming concert locations, then declares: “We are bringing hope over fear, democracy over authoritarianism, the rule of law over lawlessness, ethics over unbridled corruption, unity over division, and peace over war.”

With that last word, the band played the opening chord of Edwin Starr’s 1970 hit “War,” which Springsteen and E Street Band played regularly on tour in 1988, but only rarely before or after that.

Springsteen and the band have been rehearsing at The Ocean Grove Youth Temple. On March 23, Springsteen performed his protest song “Streets of Minneapolis” at an event celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Democracy Now! organization at at Riverside Church in New York, and he will perform at a No Kings rally in St. Paul, Minnesota, on March 28.

“You want to try to meet the moment,” he told the Minneapolis Star Tribune. “The No Kings movement is of great import right now.

“When you have the opportunity to sing something where the timing is essential and if you have something powerful to sing, it elevates the moment, it elevates your job to another level. And I’m always in search of that.”

The one Jersey show on the tour will be on April 20, at The Prudential Center in Newark.
