BTS as The Beatles, with Stephen Colbert as Ed Sullivan, at the Ed Sullivan Theater on May 15.

BTS, the South Korean boy band, performed on “Late Show With Stephen Colbert” May 15, with shows scheduled at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, this weekend. And since “Late Show” tapes at the Ed Sullivan Theater — where The Beatles made their historic American debut on “The Ed Sullivan Show,” in 1964 — Colbert couldn’t resist evoking Beatlemania.

In a pre-taped black and white bit, he played Sullivan, and the seven members of BTS claimed to be “The Cute One.” You can watch the segment below.

The group’s Love Yourself: Speak Yourself Tour comes to MetLife at 7:30 p.m. May 18-19. Tickets are available through ticketmaster.com.

Also, show day merchandise will be available for sale from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. May 17, in the G section of the stadium’s parking lot, with free parking.

The group previously presented two-night stands at the Prudential Center in Newark in 2017 and 2018. The Love Yourself: Speak Yourself Tour — an extension to the group’s Love Yourself Tour, which began in August 2018 — is stopping in only three United States cities. Shows also are scheduled for South America, Europe and Asia through July.

The Ed Sullivan Theater dates back to the 1920s, when it was known as The Hammerstein Theatre. In 1964, it was known as CBS-TV Studio 50; it became the Ed Sullivan Theater in 1968.
