Stephen Colbert and Steve Carell will join forces in November for a Montclair Film Festival fundraiser.

Comedic powerhouses Stephen Colbert and Steve Carell— whose friendship goes back to the early ’90s, when they worked together in the Second City comedy troupe in Chicago — will appear together at a fundraiser for the Montclair Film Festival.

“A Conversation With Stephen Colbert and Steve Carell” takes place at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark Nov. 21, with tickets, priced from $59.50 to $250, going on sale Oct. 3 at 10 a.m.; call (888) 466-5722 or visit njpac.org.

According to a press release, the show “will feature a multimedia presentation of rarely-seen highlights and an in-depth conversation spanning their extraordinary careers.”

Colbert, a Montclair resident, has appeared at Montclair Film Festival fundraisers before.

The festival takes place annually in the spring; the 2015 dates have not been announced yet. For information, visit montclairfilmfest.org.

The star of “The Colbert Report” on Comedy Central, Colbert will take over the “Late Show” franchise from David Letterman on an unspecified date next year.
