You’ve got to figure that the 2003 film “Love Actually” — combining 10 separate but interlocking love stories, and featuring actors such as Colin Firth, Liam Neeson, Laura Linney, Emma Thompson, Keira Knightley and Alan Rickman — would have a lot of great behind-the-scenes stories attached to it. And its director and writer, Richard Curtis, will have an opportunity to share some of them, April 30, when he provides a live “director’s commentary” during a screening of the film at the Montclair Film Festival.

Also on that day, Curtis — whose other writing and/or producing credits include “Bridget Jones’s Diary,” “Four Weddings and a Funeral,” “Notting Hill” and “Bean” — will participate in a conversation with Stephen Colbert onstage at The Montclair Kimberly Academy Upper School. Colbert is a member of the festival’s Advisory Board, as well as the husband of the vice chairman of its Board of Trustees, Evelyn Colbert.

In a press release, Curtis said he is “looking forward to undermining ‘Love Actually’ with my scurrilous memories and revelations about the low quality of the film-making, and quite how many members of my own family are in it, including my mother-in-law.”

Tickets for the conversation with Colbert go on sale for MFF members on April 5, and for the general public on April 8. Visit montclairfilm.org.

The festival takes place from April 29 to May 8. The complete schedule will not be announced until April 5.
