MAX WEINBERG
Max Weinberg’s Jukebox will perform at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. This happens to be the same day that The Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music at Monmouth University in West Long Branch will present a 50th anniversary “Born to Run” symposium.
(AUG. 11 UPDATE: Originally planned as an indoor show, the event has been moved to the outside Stone Pony Summer Stage, which is a larger area.)
The symposium begins at 9 a.m. While a closing time has not been announced, similar previous events have not lasted into the night, so it should be possible for people to attend both the symposium and the Pony show without missing anything. (And, of course, for Weinberg to participate in the symposium before heading over to the nearby Stone Pony, though that is not confirmed.)
Tickets for the Stone Pony show will to on sale at 10 a.m. Aug. 5; visit ticketmaster.com.
A description of the show on the Ticketmaster website describes it as “Max Weinberg’s Summer Celebration Featuring Max Weinberg’s Jukebox: Songs, Stories, Surprises, and more.”
In his Jukebox shows, Weinberg and other musicians play classic rock songs — including, possibly, some Springsteen material — requested by audience members.
