Box Office Cinemas will begin operating the South Orange Performing Arts Center movie theater in January.
The South Orange Performing Arts Center’s movie theater will reopen, under the operation of the Box Office Cinemas company, in January.
This will be Box Office Cinemas’ fifth location in the New Jersey/New York area. “We expect to open Box Office Cinemas at SOPAC on or before January 16, 2026, with additional upgrades continuing after opening,” said James Kula, the company’s president, in a press release. “We are eager to reopen this location and excited to be part of their next chapter.”
The five-screen movie theater closed during the pandemic and reopened in the summer of 2021, but closed again in March of this year.
“We know how much the community has missed the cinema over the past several months, and we look forward to this long-awaited return,” said SOPAC executive director Lana Rogachevskaya, in the press release.
