A benefit for Tim O’Donohue and Greg Lykins will be held in Orangeburg, New York, April 14.

The Rockland-Bergen Music Festival, an annual weekend-long event from 2014 to 2018 (presented in Rockland County, New York, just over the border from Bergen County, New Jersey), has been dormant in recent years. But it is being revived, in a limited way, for a one-day event — featuring artists such as The THE BAND Band, Tom Chapin, Neil Berg and Rita Harvey, and Jake Thistle — April 14 from noon to 7:30 p.m. on two stages at The Gaelic Athletic Association in Orangeburg, New York.

In association with The Dan Sullivan Foundation, the festival will present a benefit for two musicians, Tim O’Donohue and Greg Lykins, who are currently battling cancer. O’Donohue has been a regular Rockland-Bergen Music Festival and Light of Day Festival performer, and Greg Lykins is a member of Joe D’Urso’s Stone Caravan band. D’Urso owns and organizes The Rockland-Bergen Music Festival, and will perform with Stone Caravan on April 14.

In a message on the festival’s website, D’Urso describes O’Donohue and Lykins as “two dear friends in need” and writes that “besides incoming medical costs, they both have loss of income while battling their respective fights.”

The April 14 event, he writes, “will be ‘run’ more like our past Dan Sullivan Foundation events where an entry ticket will get you food, beer, wine, soda, water plus seven hours of non-stop live music! …

“There will be guitar raffles (two acoustic guitars donated by Alto Music and signed by all the performers), 50/50s and auction items: Yankees tickets, signed drum head by the legendary band The Smithereens, tickets to shows at The Turning Point, and more to come!”
