Paul McCartney performs with Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band at Anfield in Liverpool.

For the first two encores of their concert at Anfield in Liverpool, June 7, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band were joined by Paul McCartney for the Beatles hit “Can’t Buy Me Love” as well as “Kansas City” (a song that was covered by The Beatles). You can watch a video of the two songs below.

“Thank you, scousers,” Paul McCartney said to the audience, using local slang, after the two songs were over.

“Oh my God!” said Springsteen. “You don’t know … to be in Liverpool and play with a Beatle. That’s one of my dreams come true, right there.”

This was Springsteen’s second concert, ever, in Liverpool. The first took place on June 4.

On June 6, Springsteen and McCartney visited students at The Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, which McCartney co-founded.

“We are so glad to be here because without this town there would be no E Street band,” Springsteen reportedly told the crowd at Anfield.
