E Street Band drummer Max Weinberg — who sat in with The Weeklings at The Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park on July 3 and who is confirmed to participate in a tribute to Bruce Springsteen’s classic Born to Run album at Bar Anticipation in Belmar, Aug. 13 — has another Jersey appearance coming up, too. He will join The Weeklings again at their Oct. 16 concert at the Pollak Theatre at Monmouth University in West Long Branch.
The Weeklings — composed of singer-bassist Glen Burtnik, singer-guitarists Bob Burger and John Merjave, and drummer Dave Anthony — play Beatles covers and Beatles-inspired originals. They released their self-titled debut album in March.
The Oct. 16 show is billed as “The Weeklings: With a Little Help From Our Friends,” and will feature strings and horns. It is described on monmouth.edu as “a new theater production” and “a night of all things Beatles & beyond”; Weinberg’s role in the show is called a “special appearance.”
Tickets range from $25 to $50 and are available via monmouth.edu.
