With heavy rain in the forecast, the city of Hoboken has postponed its Spring Hoboken Arts and Music Festival, which had been scheduled for May 1. Leon Russell was going to headline the annual event.

The new date has not yet been announced.

A message on the city’s web site, hobokennj.org, reads: “Due to severe weather conditions for SUNDAY MAY 1st, the Spring Arts & Music Festival will be rescheduled. Please check back for updated information.”

The free event regularly attracts thousands of people to downtown Hoboken, with two music stages, a children’s entertainment stage, and hundreds of art displays, food vendors and other attractions lining Washington Street.
