Mike + the Mechanics will tape an episode of the public television series “Front and Center” April 21 at House of Independents, as part of the Asbury Park Music and Film Festival. Tickets, priced at $35 ($125 for VIP tickets), are available at apmff.org and the Stone Pony box office.

Bassist-guitarist Mike Rutherford of Genesis started the band as a side project in the mid-’80s. Its original incarnation, also featuring singers Paul Young (who died in 2000) and Paul Carrack, had hits such as “The Living Years,” “All I Need Is a Miracle” and “Silent Running (on Dangerous Ground).”

In the band’s current lineup, Rutherford is joined by singers Andrew Roachford and Tim Howar, keyboardist Luke Juby, drummer Gary Wallis and guitarist Anthony Drennan. The band will release a new album, Let Me Fly, on April 7.

No other U.S. concert dates are currently scheduled.
