Light of Day 2020

The 2020 Light of Day festival will take place Jan. 10-20.

The Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park traditionally hosts only one show of the annual Light of Day festival: The main, marathon Saturday night concert. But in 2020, it will host three: The main concert, Jan. 18, as well as Remember Jones and Friends, performing The Who’s Tommy (the album, not the musical) in its entirety, Jan. 17; and members of Harry Chapin’s family, performing together in an afternoon show on Jan. 19.

It has also been announced that the “Asbury Angels” show at the Stone Pony, Jan. 17, will include an album release celebration for The Weeklings’ third album, 3.

Lights of Day has also released a list of some of the artists who will participate in the Jan. 10-20 festival (though times and dates of appearances, and many other acts, will be announced later). These include Willie Nile, Joe Grushecky & the Houserockers, James Maddock, Jesse Malin, Guy Davis, Anthony Krizan, Joe D’Urso & Stone Caravan, Williams Honor, Vini “Mad Dog” Lopez, Best of the Eagles, Neil Berg’s “100 Years of Broadway,” Jeffrey Gaines, Ben Arnold and Emily Grove.

Tickets will go on sale Nov. 9 at noon; visit ticketmaster.com. Tickets are already on sale for the Jan. 10 show at the Outpost in the Burbs in Montclair, though the lineup has not been announced yet; visit outpostintheburbs.org.

In addition to Montclair, there will be Light of Day shows in Manhattan, Rockland County, N.Y., and Philadelphia, though most of the shows, as usual, will take place in Asbury Park.

Light of Day’s goal is to raise money to be used to defeat Parkinson’s disease and related neurodegenerative diseases, specifically Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), within our lifetime.
