Bruce Springsteen has been added to the lineup of “Celebrating America,” a 90-minute Inauguration Day (Jan. 20) television special. It will air at 8:30 p.m. ET on ABC, CBS, NBC and other television networks, as well as on streaming platforms such as Facebook and YouTube.
Tom Hanks will host the special, which will feature remote performances by Jon Bon Jovi, The Foo Fighters, John Legend, Ant Clemons, Demi Lovato and Justin Timberlake, in addition to Springsteen. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will make appearances, as will Eva Longoria and Kerry Washington.
According to bideninaugural.org, the program will “celebrate the beginning of a new national journey toward an America united. The program will showcase the American people’s resilience, heroism, and unified commitment to coming together as a nation to heal and rebuild. …
“Through different segments and performances, the program will highlight the strength of our democracy, the perseverance of our people, and our ability to come together during trying times and emerge stronger than ever before. The program will celebrate American heroes who are helping their fellow Americans through this crisis, including frontline workers, health care workers, teachers, citizens giving back, and those who are breaking barriers.”
