Southside Johnny is presenting an intimate concert Tuesday in New York, and the price of admission is a $50 donation to WhyHunger.
The hour-long performance, by Southside and Asbury Jukes keyboardist Jeff Kazee takes place at 1 p.m. at the Adorama Live Theatre, at 345 Hudson St., and a limited number of tickets are available.
The performance is part of WhyHunger’s 30th annual Hungerthon, which has raised $15 million over the years for the charity, co-founded by Harry Chapin in 1975 (and formerly known as World Hunger Year).
Gifts being given away for donations at hungerthon.org include a limited edition Bruce Springsteen 40th Anniversary “Born to Run” poster, a John Lennon “Imagine” T-shirt, scarfs and bracelet, and more. Supporters can also simply text the word WHY to 50555 to donate $10 to WhyHunger.
There will also be an auction at charitybuzz.com/whyhunger, with items including lunch with “Doonesbury” creator Garry Trudeau, two tickets plus meet-and-greet access for Fall Out Boy’s upcoming Madison Square Garden, first row New York Islanders tickets, and more.
Also as part of the Hungerthon, Aztec Two-Step, Joe D’Urso and Loretta Hagen will present a benefit, this Sunday at 5 p.m. at the Acoustic Cafe in Park Ridge. Visit cafeacoustic.org.
