The East Lynne Theater Company in Cape May will begin presenting indoor shows in the fall.

The East Lynne Theater Company is planning an indoor season in its usual space, The Cape May Presbyterian Church, in the fall, but has other events coming up before then, too.

Saturdays at 7 p.m. during most of the summer (on June 12, 26, July 10, 24, 31 and Aug. 21 and 28), East Lynne will present “Vaudeville Variety” outside at the West Cape May Borough’s Back Yard at 732 Broadway. A farmer’s market is held on Tuesdays, there, during the summer; this is also where East Lynne produced “Poe by Candlelight,” last year. The show will feature skits along with Vaudeville Era songs.

Also, East Lynne will present “Tales in the Backyard” — featuring storytelling, historical speeches and one-act plays — Thursdays at 4 p.m. from June 17 through Aug. 26 at various locations.

A Student Summer Workshop will be offered Aug. 3-13, and soprano Barbara Quintiliani will be featured in a concert, Sept. 11.

From Sept. 15 to Oct. 16, East Lynne’s fall season will start with “Dorothy Parker: A Certain Woman,” starring Suzanne Dawson as the famous writer.

The silent film “Nosferatu” will be shown with live organ accompaniment by Wayne Zimmerman, Oct. 22. And actors will read Edgar Allan Poe stories in “Poe by Candlelight,” Oct. 23 and 26.

“The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle,” a radio play-style adaptation of the Sherlock Holmes story, will run Oct. 29-30 and Nov. 5-6. And on Nov. 27-28 and Dec. 6 and 10-12, it’s the holiday show, “Christmas With Harte and O. Henry.”
