Kean University announces schedule for outdoor concerts and family shows this summer

The Lawn at Enlow Hall, on the East Campus of Kean University in Hillside, will be the location for three outdoor concerts and three outdoor family shows this summer, on three consecutive weekends, starting July 17:

The three concerts, presented by Kean Stage, are:

July 17, 6:30 p.m.: Jazz guitarist John Scofield’s trio, featuring bassist Vicente Archer and drummer Bill Stewart. (Rain date: July 18 at 6:30 p.m.).

July 24, 6:30 p.m.: Singer-songwriter Michael Mayo. (Rain date: July 25 at 6:30 p.m.)

July 31, 6:30 p.m.: Singer Judith Hill (Rain date: Aug. 1 at 6:30 p.m.). Hill, who has sung backing vocals for artists such as Michael Jackson, Josh Groban and John Legend and released several solo albums, is one of the subjects of the Oscar-winning 2013 movie, “20 Feet From Stardom.”

The family shows, presented by Premiere Stages in partnership with Kean Stage, are:

July 17, 11 a.m.: “Sleeping Beauty,” from Yates Musical Theatre. (Rain date: July 18 at 1 p.m.).

July 24, 11 a.m.: “Pinocchio,” from Yates Musical Theatre. (Rain date: July 25 at 1 p.m.)

July 31, 11 a.m.: Galumpha (acrobatics, visual effects and physical comedy). See video below. (Rain date: Aug. 1 at 1 p.m.)
