The Montclair Art Museum will reopen on Sept. 12.

Closed since March, the Montclair Art Museum will reopen to the general public on Sept. 13, with a preview day for members only on Sept. 12.

Masks and temperature checks will be required, and the number of visitors will be kept under the current governmental mandate of 25 percent with timed-entrance ticketing. There will be social distancing markers and one-way pathways, hand sanitizer stations have been added, and the restrooms and ventilation system have been upgraded with safety in mind.

“Our staff has worked hard to create a comfortable and safe visit for our guests,” said interim director Ira Wagner in a press release. “We look forward to welcoming you back soon. As our new signage says,’Come visit the art — 6 feet apart.’ ”

The museum will be open Fridays through Sundays with the following hours:

Fridays: Noon to 8 p.m. (11 a.m. to noon for seniors and immunocompromised people_.
Saturdays: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Sundays: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Current exhibitions include “Federico Uribe: Animalia,” “Virgil Ortiz: Odyssey of the Venutian Soldiers,” “Uncaged: Animals in the Collection” and “Personal Landscapes.”
