
BOBBY SANABRIA
Drummer Bobby Sanabria, organist Matthew Whitaker, saxophonist Bruce Williams and harpist Riza Printup will be among the performers at this year’s edition of the annual West Orange Jazz Festival, taking place outdoors at The Oskar Schindler Performing Arts Center in West Orange, Sept. 20 from 1 to 8 p.m.
Headliner Sanabria — a nine-time Grammy nominee — will perform with his Tres Magos (Three Magicians) group, also featuring pianist Marcus Persiani and bassist Donald Nicks.
The event is produced by Pleasant Valley Production and will be hosted by Monifa Brown, host of WBGO’s “Saturday Evening Jazz” and “Hard Bop Café” programs.
Tickets are $10 ($20 with reserved VIP seating), with no admission charge for those who want to see only the hour-long, WBGO-sponsored Kids Jazz Concert featuring drummer Jerome Jennings, at 1 p.m.

2:15 p.m.: Rutgers University’s John Coltrane Ensemble, directed by Anthony Branker
3:15 p.m.: Riza Printup Trio
4:15 p.m.: Matthew Whitaker Organ Trio
5:15 p.m.: Champian Fulton Trio
6:15 p.m.: Bruce Williams Quintet
7:15 p.m.: Bobby Sanabria & Tres Magos
The event will also offer food and crafts vendors, and a beer and wine garden. Lawn chairs or blankets are suggested. Tickets are available at ticketleap.events.
