Kate McKinnon and Stephen Colbert will appear in a benefit for Montclair Film at NJPAC, Dec. 5.

Stephen Colbert — who has talked with Meryl Streep, Martin Scorsese, Spike Lee, Jon Stewart and others in a series of fundraisers for Montclair film — will present his next benefit on Dec. 5 at Prudential Hall at NJPAC in Newark, sitting down with former “Saturday Night Live” star Kate McKinnon. Tickets will go on sale Oct. 23 at 10 a.m., with pre-sales beginning Oct. 21 at 10 a.m.; visit ticketmaster.

McKinnon was a “Saturday Night Live” cast member from 2012 to 2022, winning Emmys for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 2016 and 2017. She also has appeared in movies including “Barbie,” “Bombshell,” “Rough Night” and the 2016 remake of “Ghostbusters,” and written a best-selling series of books for middle schoolers, “The Millicent Quibb School of Etiquette for Young Ladies of Mad Science.”

Colbert is a Montclair resident and a member of Montclair Film’s advisory board. His wife Evelyn McGee Colbert is a trustee of the organization, and a former president of it.

Montclair Film presents films and other events year-round but its signature offering, The Montclair Film Festival, is currently running, and will continue through Oct. 25. Visit montclairfilm.org.
