Melissa Etheridge will be featured in NJ PBS’s “Soundcheck” series, Sept. 17 at 8 p.m. The show will feature performance and interview footage from her April 24 concert at NJPAC in Newark.
“From the first song on, the audience is there,” Etheridge says during the interview. “Since 1988, I have always loved New Jersey and how it takes rock ‘n’ roll very seriously. It’s very important and I appreciate that.”
Joss Stone, who was double billed with Etheridge at that show, is also interviewed by “Soundcheck” host Jen Eckert, and talks about touring and performing with Etheridge.
“It’s been massive, because she’s been part of the musical food that I’ve been eating since birth, literally … she’s super-special,” says Stone, who was born in 1987, the year before Etheridge released her debut album.
The episode will also stream on MyNJPBS.org/live, and is watchable, now, at njpbs.org/programs/soundcheck. After Sept. 17, it will be available at youtube.com/NJPBS.
