Nat Zegree played Jerry Lee Lewis, with Alex Boniello, right, as Elvis Presley, and Bligh Voth as Presley’s girlfriend Dyanne, in The Paper Mill Playhouse’s 2017 production of “Million Dollar Quartet.”

“Million Dollar Quartet,” which The Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn presented in 2017 (read review HERE), will also be part of its 2026-27 season, which was announced today. The jukebox musical features songs by Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins, and is inspired by a legendary 1956 jam session at Sun Records’ studio in Memphis.

Because of renovations at the theater, the season — which is Paper Mill’s 88th — will have only four shows instead of the usual five, and the lobby and mezzanine level will be closed. (Patrons will enter directly into the auditorium.) The theater expects to return to five productions in its 2027-28 season, with the closed areas reopened.

The theater’s F.M. Kirby Carriage House Restaurant, which also has undergone renovations, will celebrate its Grand Reopening on May 6 of this year.

The musical “1776” is now running at the theater (read review HERE) and will continue through May 2. The current season will conclude with “West Side Story,” May 28-June 28.

The 2026-27 season will also include the family musical “Mary Poppins” during this year’s holiday season; the farce “Lend Me a Tenor”; and “Dear Evan Hansen” (named Best Musical at The Tonys in 2017).

Subscriptions are now available, with tickets to individual shows going on sale on Aug. 24. Visit papermill.org.

Here is the schedule:

Nov. 18-Jan. 3: “Mary Poppins.” Based on the stories of P. L. Travers and the 1964 Walt Disney film. Co-created by Cameron Mackintosh. Original music and lyrics by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B.
