The George Street Playhouse has announced its 2026-27 season.

Tony winners Laura Benanti and Julie White will be among the performers in the 2026-27 season of the George Street Playhouse, which presents its shows at The New Brunswick Performing Arts Center. Benanti will star in a one-woman comedy show with music, “Laura Benanti: Nobody Cares,” in which she will “share her hilarious, heartfelt, and sometimes brutally honest takes on motherhood, people pleasing, and the joys of aging,” according to a press release. White, meanwhile, will star in Theresa Rebeck’s “Bad Dates: End Game,” a sequel to Rebeck’s “Bad Dates.” White will play Haley, who was the main character of “Bad Dates”; she is now a 58-year-old widow who is starting to date again.

Also as part of the season, Kathryn Grody will star in “The Unexpected 3rd,” which George Street Playhouse describes as “A Radical, Rollicking Rumination on the Optimism of Staying Alive.” Jason Alexander, of “Seinfeld” fame, will direct “The Cocktail Party Effect,” a new comedy by Scooter Pietsch. And Vicki Lawrence will revive a favorite character, who was first seen on “The Carol Burnett Show,” in “Vicki Lawrence & Mama: A Two-Woman Show.”

The Benanti and Vicki Lawrence shows will only run briefly, as part of what George Street Playhouse is calling is GSP Select Series. Tickets to these shows are now on sale to George Street donors and subscribers, and will go on sale to the general public, April 28 at noon.

Subscriptions packages for the other four shows, which will have full-length runs, are now available at georgestreetplayhouse.org/events/subscriptions. Single tickets, three-play packages and “Flex” packages will go on sale at a later date TBA.
